Seasonalwork.NL Receives "Good Practice Award" Presented by the European Labour Authority
On June 20th, the award ceremony for the "Good Practice Awards" took place during the European Labour Authority Conference in Bratislava. In the category of "seasonal work," our platform Seasonalwork.NL was honored with an award. EURES Slovakia nominated our platform as a project for consideration. The collaboration between Seasonalwork.NL, an initiative of LTO Arbeidskracht, EURES Netherlands, and the EURES Network, has been highly successful.
Thanks to our Slovakian EURES colleague, Zuzana Kubovicova, who presented the project at the conference in Bratislava, the project has been recognized as a "Best Practice." Seasonalwork.NL receives a significant number of motivated applicants from Slovakia and other European member states who are interested in temporary work in the Netherlands. Employers in the agricultural sector who utilize the Seasonalwork.NL platform are renowned for their reliability and commitment to "fair mobility," providing housing, healthcare, and promoting good employment practices. They offer seasonal work opportunities to workers from all member states within a safe environment.
Promoting Good Employment Practices
Through collaboration with agricultural entrepreneurs under the guidance of LTO Arbeidskracht, the concept of "good employment practices" in the sector receives a boost, strengthening the sector's reputation. Maria Custers (Seasonalwork.NL) stated, "This distinction means a lot to Seasonalwork.NL and the Dutch agricultural sector. With this award, we showcase to other European countries and candidates that the employers posting vacancies on our website prioritize good employment practices and that our platform offers safe and legal employment in the agricultural sector."
About EURES
EURES (European Employment Services) is a cooperation network designed to facilitate the free movement of workers within the European Economic Area.
Seasonalwork.NL and EURES Netherlands work closely together to guide employers and workers through the requirements of the Dutch labor market.
About the European Labour Authority
The European Labour Authority (ELA) has been created to help Member States and the European Commission to ensure that EU rules on labour mobility and social security coordination are enforced in a fair, simple and effective way. ELA also has an important role to play in facilitating and ensuring effective labour mobility in Europe, in particular by activities of European Employment Services (EURES).
The "Good Practice Awards" is an annual initiative launched by the ELA in 2022. The aim of these awards is to exchange, disseminate, and apply "best practices" and knowledge gathered by member states and other stakeholders operating at national, regional, or local levels, including civil society organizations and social partners.
